Recently renovated, for years this tomb was covered in ‘X’s. It had been rumored to have actually been the real final resting place of Marie Laveau—some believed her to actually have been disinterred and transferred to St Louis Cemetery No 2 to deter people from exhuming her bones for some voodoo ceremony*—though there was no evidence to support that.

*not sure how they would differentiate amongst all the bones those that belonged to her.
